Biography & Artist Statement

 

 

I am a local Resident of Prescott, Arizona since 2008

 

One of my passions in life is capturing images of the Southwest. But not just recording a moment of time, but being able to show the perception of that moment which others can see for years to come.

 

I grew up in Southern California and was the owner of a marine canvas manufacturer company of thirty years. I always had an eye of the finished end product even before I started a project. This talent naturally helped me with the transition into photography. Research and studying available resources help me visualize an image before I go on a shoot. This gives me an upper hand and eliminates relying on just luck.

 

I discovered Arizona, the Southwest, and the incredible beauty of nature back in 2007. After selling my company, my wife, daughter, and I packed up and came to Prescott, AZ.

    

What launched me into photography was when my wife bought a horse. Well, I bought a camera. I took a picture of her horse running and that’s where it began. I purchased the best equipment, the best lenses, and equipment. I’m self-taught. I read, I worked in the field and paid my dues to produce breathtaking scenes and nature at its finest.

 

With my passion and vision as an artist, photography has led me to meet wonderful people and capturing images of Nature, Nightscapes, Western Landscapes, and Horses traveling all over the Southwest and some in the Northwest. Photography has been a wonderful match for me.

 

I process my images in a RAW file processing software. I use a Canon R5 camera, which in turn, allows me to enlarge my images keeping the finest of detail. I print on Canon's IPF 6400 large format printer. These archival prints will last over 100 years without fading, which means that they will be appreciated for many years to come.
